The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is one of the most competitive engineering entrance exams in India. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to undergraduate engineering programs at the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs),National Institutes of Technology (NITs),and other centrally funded technical institutions.

The JEE is divided into two parts: JEE Main and JEE Advanced. JEE Main is the first stage of the JEE and is taken by over 10 lakh students each year. The top 2.5 lakh students in JEE Main are eligible to take JEE Advanced.

JEE Advanced is the second stage of the JEE and is taken by about 1.5 lakh students each year. The top 10,000 students in JEE Advanced are offered admission to the IITs.

Physics is the second most important subject in the JEE syllabus. It accounts for 30% of the total marks in JEE Main and 40% of the total marks in JEE Advanced. The following table shows the distribution of topics in physics for JEE Advanced and JEE Main:

Chemistry

Chemistry is the least important subject in the JEE syllabus. It accounts for 20% of the total marks in JEE Main and 30% of the total marks in JEE Advanced. The following table shows the distribution of topics in chemistry for JEE Advanced and JEE Main:
