Timothy Ray Bradley Jr. is an American former professional boxer who competed from 2004 to 2016. He held the WBO welterweight title twice between 2009 and 2014, and also the WBC, WBA (Super),and Ring magazine welterweight titles between 2012 and 2014. In 2016 Bradley was named Fighter of the Year by the Boxing Writers Association of America.

Early Life and Career

Bradley was born on August 29, 1983, in Palm Springs, California. He began boxing at the age of 10 at the Coachella Valley Boxing Club, under the tutelage of his father, Tim Bradley Sr. Bradley had a successful amateur career, winning the National Golden Gloves three times and the U.S. Amateur Championships twice.

Professional Career

Bradley turned professional in 2004 and quickly rose through the ranks. He won his first 29 fights, including victories over Kendall Holt and Lamont Peterson. In 2009, Bradley won the WBO welterweight title by defeating Junior Witter. He successfully defended the title once, before losing it to Manny Pacquiao in 2012.

Bradley rebounded from the loss to Pacquiao by winning the WBC welterweight title in 2012. He successfully defended the title twice, before winning the WBA (Super) and Ring magazine welterweight titles in 2014. Bradley lost the WBA (Super) title to Jessie Vargas in 2016, but he retired from boxing in 2016 with a record of 33-1-1.

Bradley is considered to be one of the best welterweights of his generation. He was a skilled boxer with a strong work ethic and determination. Bradley was also a well-respected figure in the boxing community. He was known for his humility and his willingness to give back to the sport.
